Insight Ayrshire is a private organisation based in Ayrshire which offers online and in-person adult and couples therapy, clinical supervision and counselling skills training. It was founded by Anna McNamara who trained in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy in 2019/21 (COSCA Diploma Level 10) and is registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy). Anna is committed to high professional standards through her commitment to the BACP ethical framework. She holds current indemnity insurance with the Psychologists Protection Society and is PVG approved by Disclosure Scotland and is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
Anna has lectured in Community Development and Counselling Skills for almost a decade and this currently includes training student counsellors. She holds a teaching qualification in FE (TQFE), is a member of the General Teaching Council and is currently a lecturer in Counselling and a trainer delivering the COSCA Pluralistic Counselling Diploma within the Private Sector.
In counselling practice the integrative method draws systematically from humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioural approaches and works to meet individual needs. Anna's work is greatly influenced by Humanistic, Person Centred and Gestalt Approaches grounded by a Pluralistic Philosophy. In addition, she is currently undertaking further CPD in relational trauma, working with men, internal family systems, compassion focussed therapy and acceptance & commitment therapy.
A specific range of areas are supported including: relationship difficulties and toxic relationship recovery, anxiety, depression, CPTSD, low self esteem, anger, loss, grief and coping with change.
